David Edgar

Managing Director

David started working in the industry in 2003 as an apprentice electrician. Upon finishing his apprenticeship, he had a strong interest in the home automation industry. He continued his studies, attending many courses and learning to program himself. Ten years later David founded Kayder.

David’s main focus with Kayder was to focus on the luxury residential market and hospitality sector. Kayder's team is currently working on some of the largest residential projects in Australia and has delivered over 40 hotel projects.

David has a passion for audio visual technology and is always looking at keeping up to date with the best options to deliver the latest technology on each job. He has also had a lot of fun automating his own house, enjoying trialling new products and seeing what works best for the end user.

He finds his strong knowledge of commercial systems has led to an easy integration with designing large-scale residential projects, as these often need to implement the same grade equipment to create a reliable solution.

David has worked hard to create a strong team around him, all with the same passion for automation.

He also is a father to three young children, and enjoys snowboarding and boating in his spare time.
